Alison Hall has 30 years’ senior HR experience, advising senior managers and governors on both strategic and operational people management issues.
Alison has been working as an independent consultant since leaving the University of Leicester, where she had been HR Director, in 2008. She works primarily (although not exclusively) in the higher education sector, offering a wide range of HR consultancy services within the context of stand-alone investigations and projects of short duration, longer term reviews and significant organisational change programmes spanning several years. Her particular area of expertise is in developing creative, pragmatic and workable solutions to especially complex, delicate or sensitive problems. Alison’s publications include Getting to Grips with HR (Leadership Foundation, 2009), Managing People (Open University Press, 2003) and Personnel Management in Higher Education Management – The Key Elements (eds Warner and Palfreyman, Open University Press, 1996).
Alison is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and she holds the Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate.
