Charles has 20 years experience and a proven track-record in public relations, public affairs and stakeholder engagement – working in-house, agency-side or as an independent consultant with 25 universities since 2013.
Charles was Head of Corporate Communications at the University of Reading, establishing the institution’s first-ever integrated public relations division. He worked for a decade in Whitehall media relations, including six years at the Department for Education, and at the CBI on infrastructure, skills and training policy.
Charles has a strong contact book and networks in Westminster and Whitehall as well as press, broadcasters and commentators; employers, business and industry; and the charity and social enterprise sectors.
