Fiona has over 25 years’ experience in quality assurance in higher education, She uses her knowledge of institutions and HE organisations, both national and international, to work on the development and delivery of strategy, policy and process. She works nationally and internationally in the field and speaks French and Spanish.
In the last year Fiona has worked in the following areas:
Capacity-building: Review work, training and strategic planning for the ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (EU-ASEAN SHARE project); project on fostering a culture of quality in Vietnamese HE: contribution to workshops and national seminar in Hanoi and webinar co-presenter (British Council)
Advisory/analysis and scrutiny of reports, guidelines and requirements:
Scrutiny (of UAE CAA Standards 2019 and their requirements on institutions; advice to a European agency on possible models for an institutional evaluation process
Chair of reviews of two medical schools (Georgia/Ireland); Chair of agency review in Turkey (ENQA); training for reviewers on the ESG (Wales)
Training/workshop delivery/speaker engagements:
Respondent to opening keynote speaker at 2019 European Quality Assurance Forum; presenter: ENQA webinar on self-assessment process; joint delivery of a workshop (Morocco): ‘Building a sustainable quality culture: from internal quality assurance to external accreditation’ (QAA/CLI-CKS)
International member of the Comité de Expertos: Aragonese QA Agency, also representative of that committee on the ACPUA Board of Directors; member of Institutional and Programme Review Committee (CAIP), AQU Catalunya; member of International Advisory Committee, UKA Sweden.
