Sparkline Advisory helps universities and colleges build data and AI foundations they can rely on.
Founded by Martha Horler, who has spent over 20 years in data roles across UK higher and further education, Sparkline works on the parts of the job that tend to get postponed: data governance, statutory returns, data quality, and preparing for AI in a way that holds up to scrutiny. The aim is always to leave a provider more capable, not more dependent on a consultant.
Typical work includes data governance and maturity reviews, AI readiness and fairness audits, and support with HESA, OfS and ILR data. Martha works equally across the HE and FE sectors and translates between the two where it helps – the same problem often wears different regulatory clothing on each side.
