Dr Steven Quigley is a Non-Executive Director of UCFB, a Non-Executive Member of a college academic board, a QAA expert reviewer and an HE Consultant (quality specialist). Steven is a former University Registrar with 26 years’ experience of managing staff, systems, processes and procedures in the delivery of Higher Education administration for the benefit of students in an international context. Steven has advised Universities and small higher education institutions on matters covering governance and academic governance matters as well as Office for Students (OfS) registration, acquiring taught degree awarding powers and university title. He has taken a private former college (which is now a university) successfully through the taught degree awarding power journey and he has also been a QAA taught degree awarding power reviewer. He has therefore a unique perspective regarding the acquisition and maintenance of taught degree awarding powers as he has sat on both sides of the review table.

Formerly, Steven served on the Board of Trustees for the Council of Validating Universities. He is a Fellow and former Trustee of the Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP). Steven also sat on the UCAS Council as the AHEP nominated senior Higher Education representative. He also brought his expertise to the British Accreditation Council (BAC) where as a member of the Accreditation Committee he contributed to the review of a range of institutions under a number of different quality schemes. For and on behalf of BAC, as the Accreditation Committee Deputy-Chair, he took part in an ENQA review of BAC.
