Caroline Dunne is an Executive Coach and Leadership Advisor with over 25 years’ experience working alongside senior leaders across higher education in the UK and Australia, including as Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor at Griffith University during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her work is grounded in first-hand leadership experience in complex, multi-campus institutions. She brings a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, shaped by roles across five diverse universities – including Russell Group and Group of Eight institutions – spanning departmental, faculty, research and central leadership positions. This perspective gives her a nuanced understanding of how different governance, cultural, and structural contexts shape leadership and change.
Before establishing her independent practice, Caroline worked in the executive corridor across three large Australian universities – The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. In these roles, she supported vice-chancellors and senior leadership teams to navigate high-stakes decisions, financial pressure and sustained institutional transformation.
Having sat in the rooms where the hardest university decisions are made, has shaped how she works as a coach. She understands how decisions are made at the top of the organisation and how they are experienced across faculties, schools and professional teams. She now works with senior leaders and leadership teams to strengthen individual and collective capability, cohesion and influence, supporting them to shape and sustain meaningful change
