Liza Zamboglou is Founder and Director of Technea Consulting Ltd, an independent consultancy supporting universities, further education colleges, sector bodies and public sector organisations with credible, human-centred digital and AI-enabled change.
She brings over 20 years’ experience in digital education, learning technology, service design, accessibility and higher education transformation, including more than a decade in senior digital education roles at Queen’s University Belfast. Her work combines strategic leadership, systems thinking and practical delivery, helping institutions translate policy and ambition into practice that staff and students actually use.
Liza has expertise in AI in education strategy, policy and governance; digital and AI literacy; digital education strategy; EdTech ecosystem strategy and adoption; VLE/LMS strategy and implementation, including Canvas; learning design; inclusive and accessible digital practice; staff capability building; stakeholder engagement; change management; and coaching and mentoring.
She has co-authored an institutional AI in Education Strategy, directed the phased pedagogical rollout of Canvas VLE across 3,200 modules and 3,300 academic staff, and scaled the QUB DigiHub to over 450,000 engagements. This work has been recognised through the 2025 UCISA Award for Excellence and a QUB Staff Excellence Award for innovation in Canvas implementation. Liza is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE, an ILM Level 5 qualified Coach and Mentor, an alumna of Advance HE’s Aurora leadership programme, and a graduate of the Jisc Digital Leaders Programme. She co-designs each engagement with the institution, grounding the work in practical applicability and sound learning principles to align strategy, policy, people and practice.
